Tencent's PUBG Mobile and Game for Peace Cashes in $221 Million Worldwide in August
BEIJING, September 16 (TMTPOST) — Chinese game giant Tencent’s mobile battle royale shooting games PUBG Mobile and Game for Peace together brought in revenues of $221 million across the globe in August, representing a year-on-year increase of 25.5%, statistics from mobile market data firm Sensor Tower. The two games also topped the global income chart of mobile games.
Chinese players contributed 59% of the revenues for PUBG Mobile and Game for Peace, while American players and Japanese players contributed 9.5% and 5.2% respectively. Meanwhile, Tencent’s MOBA game Honor of Kings ranked second on the chart in terms of revenues, making over $204 million in August, representing a year-on-year increase of 25.5%. The Chinese version of Honor of Kings generated 95% of the total revenues, while the Thai market contributed 1.7% of the revenues.
