BEIJING, January 10 (TMTPOST) – Beijing has set a total quota of 100,000 car license plates in 2024, comprising 20,000 traditional gas-powered cars and 80,000 new energy vehicles (NEV), according to the Beijing Municipal Car Quota Control Management Information System.
The traditional car quota, divided into the family category and the individual category, totals 19,200. Families and individuals will share the quota through lotteies, with 800 allocated for institutional use. The NEV quota includes 73,000 for family and individual use—comprising 58,400 or 80% of the quota for families and 14,600 or 20% for individuals. Another 4,000 will be allocated for institutions, and 3,000 for commercial use.
